Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Daen Studio (“we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Manifesto mobile application (the “App”). By installing or using the App, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Who We Are
Daen Studio is the developer of Manifesto. You can contact us at daenstudio@proton.me regarding any privacy question or request described in this Policy.
2. Summary (Plain English)
- Most of your data — your name, journals, wins, plan answers, vision board, audio — lives only on your device.
- Some short text inputs and your face photo are sent to third-party AI providers ONLY when you tap to use those features (night-audio generation, Reframe, Future Self).
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not show advertising.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
3. Information We Collect
Information You Provide Directly
- Your first name, age range, plan goal, “belief stage,” and “friction” answers entered during onboarding.
- The four short scene prompts you write during onboarding and during plan changes (used to generate your night audio).
- Your morning prompt answer, evening reflection answers, and win entries.
- Reframe inputs (the thought you ask the AI to rewrite).
- Vision board: a face photo you upload from your library and the scene description you type.
- Subscription state via the Apple App Store and our subscription provider (RevenueCat).
Information Generated by the App
- An on-device unique identifier so we can recognize the device for subscription entitlement.
- Aggregated counts (resonance score, days shown up, wins logged, plan-completion records). These stay on your device.
- Local notification preferences and times you select.
Information Automatically Collected
- App version, operating-system version, and device model when communicating with our servers (for compatibility and debugging).
- We do not use cookies, mobile ad identifiers, or cross-app tracking.
What We Do NOT Collect
- Your real name, email, phone, postal address, or other contact details.
- Your contacts, calendars, or social-media accounts.
- Your precise location.
- HealthKit data, fitness data, or biometric data.
- Any data from children under 13.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the App.
- Generate the personalized night audio you requested using the prompts you entered.
- Run the Reframe AI feature on the single thought you submit.
- Generate Future Self images using the face photo and scene description you submit.
- Track your subscription status and remaining IAP credits.
- Schedule the local notifications you opted into.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.
5. Who We Share With
We share information only with the third-party service providers that we need to provide the features you tap into. Specifically:
- ElevenLabs (voice synthesis): receives the polished script for your night audio. See ElevenLabs' Privacy Policy.
- OpenAI (text refinement and Reframe): receives the four scene prompts during audio generation, and the single thought you submit to Reframe. See OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
- Replicate (Future Self image generation): receives the face photo you upload and your scene description. The face photo is used solely to generate the image you requested and is never used to identify you or for any facial-recognition purpose. See Replicate's Privacy Policy.
- RevenueCat (subscription management): receives an anonymous device identifier and your subscription transaction state. We do not send your name, journals, or other personal content to RevenueCat. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
- Apple App Store: handles all payments. We never see or store your payment-card data. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
Each provider above processes your data only to deliver the requested feature and is contractually required to handle data securely. We do NOT sell or rent your personal information to anyone, and we do not share it for advertising or analytics.
We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Daen Studio, our users, or the public.
6. Where Your Data Is Stored
- Most data (journals, wins, vision board images, profile, audio file) is stored locally on your device. If you delete the App, that data is deleted with it.
- Data transmitted to third-party providers may be processed and temporarily stored on their servers in jurisdictions including the United States. Each provider has its own privacy policy that governs that processing.
- We do not maintain our own user-account database.
7. How Long We Keep Your Information
- Local data: kept on your device until you delete the App or use in-app controls (e.g. delete a vision image, change plan, restart).
- Data sent to providers: subject to that provider's retention policy. Most retain inputs only briefly to deliver the requested output. We do not control and cannot guarantee third-party retention periods; please refer to each provider's privacy policy (linked in Section 5) for details.
8. Your Rights and Choices
You can, at any time:
- Delete vision board images individually from inside the App.
- Cancel or modify notifications in iOS Settings or in the App's Notifications screen.
- Manage or cancel your subscription via iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
- Delete the App from your device, which erases all local data.
Depending on where you live (for example California, the EEA, the United Kingdom), you may also have the right to: access the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, restrict or object to certain processing, and lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, email daenstudio@proton.me. The App has no online account; all personal data is removed by deleting the App. Because most data never leaves your device, deleting the App is the easiest way to exercise a deletion right.
California residents under the CCPA / CPRA: we do not “sell” or “share” your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under California law.
EEA / UK residents under the GDPR: where we process your personal data, our lawful basis is performance of our contract with you (Article 6(1)(b)) and our legitimate interests in operating the App safely (Article 6(1)(f)).
9. Children's Privacy
Manifesto is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact daenstudio@proton.me and we will delete it.
10. Security
We use industry-standard practices, including TLS in transit and Apple's encrypted device storage, to protect the limited information processed by the App. No system is perfectly secure. You are responsible for keeping your device, Apple ID, and any backups secure.
11. Third-Party Links and Services
The App may link to third-party websites (for example our marketing site or the terms pages of our service providers). We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” at the top will be revised when we do. Material changes will be brought to your attention in-app. Your continued use of the App after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
