Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 6, 2026

Introduction

Davit Mkhitaryan IE, operating as Daen Studio (“we,” “our,” or “us”), develops and publishes LivePop for iOS. This Privacy Policy explains what information LivePop accesses, how it is processed, and your choices regarding that information.

Information We Access and How It Is Used

Camera

LivePop accesses your front-facing camera to display a live preview on screen. The camera feed is rendered locally on your device only. No photos or video frames are captured, transmitted, or stored by us.

Microphone & Speech Recognition

LivePop accesses your microphone and uses Apple's Speech framework to convert your speech into text. On supported devices, speech recognition is performed entirely on-device. On older devices that do not support on-device recognition, Apple's server-side speech recognition may be used, subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. No raw audio is ever transmitted to our servers or to any third party by us.

Speech Transcript Text

For premium subscribers, the text transcript produced by speech recognition is sent to our server-side proxy (hosted on Cloudflare Workers), which forwards it to OpenAI's API to generate simulated viewer comments. Only the text transcript is sent - never raw audio, video, or any personal identifiers. The transcript is not stored persistently by our proxy. OpenAI's data handling is governed by OpenAI's Privacy Policy. Free-tier users do not trigger any AI requests - all comments are generated from local templates. You are asked to provide explicit consent within the app before any speech data is sent to OpenAI. You can revoke this consent at any time in the app's Settings.

Screen Recordings

You may choose to record your simulated live stream session. Recordings are saved directly to your device's photo library using Apple's ReplayKit framework. Recordings are never uploaded to our servers or shared with any third party.

Analytics & Crash Reporting

LivePop uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to help us understand how the app is used and to identify stability issues. Firebase Analytics collects aggregated usage events such as app opens, stream start and end (including duration, peak viewer count, total comments, and total hearts), paywall views, and successful purchases (product identifier only). Firebase also automatically collects device model, operating system version, app version, country, language, session data, and a Firebase Installation ID. Firebase Crashlytics collects crash reports including stack traces, device information, and your premium subscription status. No personally identifiable information such as your name, email, or display name is included in any analytics or crash data. Data handling is subject to Google's Firebase Privacy Policy.

Advertising Measurement

LivePop includes Meta's Facebook SDK Core, which collects your Device ID and sends it to Meta to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns.

Subscriptions & Payments

All in-app purchases and subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We do not collect, process, or have access to your payment information, Apple ID, or billing details.

App Preferences

LivePop stores your in-app preferences (display name, overlay style, viewer settings, and other options) locally on your device only. These preferences are never transmitted to any server.

Information We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not require user accounts or registration
  • We do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number
  • We do not track your location
  • We do not display advertisements within the app
  • We do not sell any user data

Third-Party Services

LivePop uses the following third-party services:

  • OpenAI API: Text transcripts of your speech are sent to OpenAI to generate simulated viewer comments (premium subscribers only, with your explicit consent). No audio, video, images, or personal identifiers are sent. Data handling is subject to OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
  • Cloudflare Workers: Our server-side proxy is hosted on Cloudflare's infrastructure. Your IP address is visible to Cloudflare as part of standard HTTP communication and is used for rate limiting. No data is persistently stored. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
  • Google Firebase: Firebase Analytics collects aggregated app usage events and device metadata. Firebase Crashlytics collects crash reports to help us improve app stability. Firebase assigns a Firebase Installation ID to your app instance - this is not linked to your Apple ID or any personal account. See Firebase's Privacy Policy.
  • Meta (Facebook SDK Core): Collects your Device ID to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns. See Meta's Privacy Policy.
  • Apple: Subscription processing (via StoreKit) and, on older devices, server-side speech recognition. See Apple's Privacy Policy.

Data Retention

We do not persistently store any user data on our servers. Speech transcript text is processed in real time by our proxy and OpenAI's API and is not saved. Analytics and crash data are retained by Google Firebase according to their standard retention policies. All other app data (preferences, recordings) exists only on your device.

Data Security

All communication between the app and our proxy server uses HTTPS encryption. We use authentication tokens to prevent unauthorized access to our proxy. However, no method of electronic transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

LivePop is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

Your Rights

Since we do not collect or store personal data on our own servers, there is generally no personal data for us to provide, correct, or delete. You can disable AI speech processing at any time using the toggle in the app's Privacy settings, which immediately stops any speech data from being sent to OpenAI. You can delete all locally stored app data at any time by uninstalling LivePop. To opt out of Firebase Analytics data collection, you may disable analytics in your device settings or contact us. If you have any questions about your data, please contact us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
